حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الثَّقَفِيُّ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يُكْرِي أَرْضَهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ وَبَعْضَ عَمَلِ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ وَلَوْ شِئْتُ قُلْتُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ إِمَارَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بَلَغَهُ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ حَدِيثٌ فَذَهَبَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ فَتَرَكَ أَنْ يُكْرِيَهَا فَكَانَ إِذَا سُئِلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يَقُولُ زَعَمَ ابْنُ خَدِيجٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Wahhab ibn Abd al-Majid al-Thaqafi narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Nafi', that Ibn Umar used to lease out his land in the time of Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and part of the rule of Mu'awiyah. He said: Had I wished, I would have said, in the time of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, too. Then, near the end of Mu'awiyah's governorship, a report reached him from Rafi' ibn Khadij, so he went - and I was with him - and asked him about it, and he said: "The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade leasing farmland." So he stopped leasing it out, and whenever he was asked about it afterward he would say: "Ibn Khadij claims that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade leasing farmland."
