حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ مِنَّا أَمِيرٌ وَمِنْكُمْ أَمِيرٌ قَالَ فَأَتَاهُمْ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْ يَؤُمَّ بِالنَّاسِ فَأَيُّكُمْ تَطِيبُ نَفْسُهُ أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَقَالُوا نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ نَتَقَدَّمَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Husayn ibn Ali told us, from Za'idah, from Asim, from Zirr, from Abdullah, who said: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away, the Ansar said: "From us shall be a leader, and from you shall be a leader." He said: Umar came to them and said: "O assembly of the Ansar, do you not know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer? So which of you would be content with himself to step ahead of Abu Bakr?" They said: "We seek refuge in Allah from stepping ahead of Abu Bakr."
