حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ خَبَّابًا أَعُودُهُ وَقَدْ اكْتَوَى سَبْعًا فِي بَطْنِهِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لَوْلَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَدْعُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ لَدَعَوْتُ بِهِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from Isma'il, he said: Qays told us, he said: I came to visit Khabbab, and he had been cauterized seven times in his belly, and I heard him say: "Were it not that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us to wish for death, I would have wished for it."
