Hasan ibn Musa told us: Ibn Lahi'ah told us: Abu al-Aswad told us, from Urwah, from A'ishah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray thirteen prostrations at night, and most of his prayer was performed standing; but when he grew old and heavy, most of his prayer was performed sitting. He used to pray while I lay crosswise in front of him on the bed on which he slept, until he wanted to perform the witr, at which point he would nudge me and I would get up, and he would perform the witr; then he would lie down until he heard the call to prayer, then he would get up and perform two light prostrations, then he would press his side to the ground, then go out to the prayer.
