حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جُمَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو الطُّفَيْلِ أَدْرَكْتُ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ مِنْ حَيَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَوُلِدْتُ عَامَ أُحُدٍ.

Thabit ibn al-Walid ibn 'Abdullah ibn Jumay' narrated to us, my father told me, saying: Abu al-Tufayl said to me, "I lived through eight years of the life of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and I was born in the year of Uhud."
