حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ لَطَمْتُ مَوْلًى لَنَا فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي اقْتَصَّ ثُمَّ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعْشَرَ بَنِي مُقَرِّنٍ سَبْعَةً لَيْسَ لَنَا خَادِمٌ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ فَلَطَمَهَا أَحَدُنَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْتِقُوهَا فَقِيلَ لَهُ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ خَادِمٌ غَيْرُهَا قَالَ لِتَخْدُمَنَّهُمْ فَإِذَا اسْتَغْنَوْا عَنْهَا فَلْيُعْتِقُوهَا.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, from Sufyan, from Salamah -- that is, Ibn Kuhayl -- from Mu'awiyah ibn Suwayd, who said: I struck a freedman of ours with a slap, and my father said to him: "Take retaliation." Then he said: "We, the household of Banu Muqarrin, were seven with no servant except one. One of us struck her with a slap, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Free her.' It was said to him: 'They have no servant other than her.' He said: 'Let her serve them, and when they no longer need her, let them free her.'"
