Abd al-Razzaq told us: Sufyan informed us, from al-A'mash and Mansur, from Mujahid, from Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah al-Azdi, who said: I and a man of the Ansar went to a man among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and we said: "Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) concerning the Dajjal, and do not tell us from anyone else, even if he is truthful." He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us and said: "I warn you of the Dajjal" -- three times -- "for there was no prophet before me except that he warned his nation of him, and he is among you, O nation. He is curly-haired, ruddy-complexioned, blind in the left eye. With him is a paradise and a fire; his fire is a paradise and his paradise is a fire. With him is a mountain of bread and a river of water. Rain will fall upon him but no plants will grow. He will be given power over one soul and kill it, but he will not be given power over any other. He will remain on earth for forty mornings, reaching every watering place in it, but he will not come near four mosques: the Sacred Mosque, the Mosque of Madinah, the Mosque of al-Tur, and the Farthest Mosque. And whatever becomes confusing to you, know that your Lord is not blind in one eye."
