حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ أَمْلَى عَلَيَّ مَعْمَرُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمْ الْغَائِطَ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلَنَّ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَكِنْ لِيُشَرِّقْ أَوْ لِيُغَرِّبْ قَالَ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا الشَّامَ وَجَدْنَا مَرَاحِيضَ جُعِلَتْ نَحْوَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَنَنْحَرِفُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, who said: Ma'mar ibn Rashid dictated to me, al-Zuhri informed us, from Ata' ibn Yazid, from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When one of you goes to relieve himself, let him not face the qiblah, but let him face east or west. He said: So when we came to Syria, we found latrines built facing the qiblah, so we would turn aside and seek Allah's forgiveness.
