حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ أَهْلِي أُرِيدُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِذَا أَنَا بِهِ قَائِمٌ وَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مُقْبِلٌ عَلَيْهِ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ لَهُمَا حَاجَةً فَجَلَسْتُ فَوَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى جَعَلْتُ أَرْثِي لَهُ مِنْ طُولِ الْقِيَامِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ قَامَ بِكَ هَذَا الرَّجُلُ حَتَّى جَعَلْتُ أَرْثِي لَكَ مِنْ طُولِ الْقِيَامِ قَالَ أَتَدْرِي مَنْ هَذَا قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ ذَاكَ جِبْرِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ أَمَا إِنَّكَ لَوْ كُنْتَ سَلَّمْتَ عَلَيْهِ لَرَدَّ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yazid told us: Hisham informed us, from Hafsa bint Sirin, from Abu al-'Aliya, from a man of the Ansar, who said: I went out with my family intending to visit the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and there he was, standing, and there was a man facing him. I thought they had some business, so I sat down. By Allah, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stood so long that I began to feel pity for him because of the length of his standing. Then the man left, and I got up and went to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, this man kept you standing so long that I began to feel pity for you." He said, "Do you know who this was?" I said, "No." He said, "That was Gabriel, advising me about the neighbor, until I thought he would make him an heir. Had you greeted him with peace, he would have returned the greeting to you."
