Al-Hakam ibn Nafi narrated to us: Isma'il ibn Ayyash narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Sa'id, from Abu Ata al-Saksaki, from Mu'adh ibn Sa'd al-Saksaki, from Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah, that he heard Ubadah ibn al-Samit relate that a man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the duration of ease for your nation? He did not answer him at all, though he asked him three times, each time without answering him. Then the man went away. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Where is the questioner? So they brought him back, and he said: You have indeed asked me about something no one of my nation has asked me about before: the duration of ease for my nation is a hundred years - he said it twice or three times. The man said: O Messenger of Allah, is there a sign, mark, or indication of that? He said: Yes: the sinking of the earth, the earthquake, and the sending of devils who incite the people against one another.
