حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي هِنْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ عَنِ ابْنٍ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ بْنِ رِبْعِيٍّ قَالَ مُرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجِنَازَةٍ قَالَ مُسْتَرِيحٌ وَمُسْتَرَاحٌ مِنْهُ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الْمُسْتَرِيحُ وَالْمُسْتَرَاحُ مِنْهُ قَالَ الْمُؤْمِنُ اسْتَرَاحَ مِنْ نَصَبِ الدُّنْيَا وَأَذَاهَا إِلَى رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَالْفَاجِرُ اسْتَرَاحَ مِنْهُ الْعِبَادُ وَالْبِلَادُ وَالشَّجَرُ وَالدَّوَابُّ.

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Sa'id - meaning Ibn Abi Hind - narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn Halhala narrated to me, from a son of Ka'b ibn Malik, from Abu Qatadah ibn Rib'i, who said: A funeral passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: 'One who is relieved and one who is relieved from.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the one who is relieved and the one who is relieved from?' He said: 'The believing servant is relieved from the toil and harm of this world to the mercy of Allah, Most High. And as for the wicked one, the people, the land, the trees, and the animals are relieved from him.'
