حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى وَنَحْوِ ذَلِكَ وَفِي الصُّبْحِ أَطْوَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ.

'Abd al-Rahman told us, Shu'bah told us, from Simak, from Jabir, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite in the noon and afternoon prayers "By the night as it covers" and similar chapters, and in the dawn prayer, longer than that.
