حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمَّى الْمَدِيَنَةَ طَابَةَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, Shu'bah told us, from Simak ibn Harb, from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him -- and another time he said: I heard Jabir, that is Ibn Samurah -- that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, named al-Madinah "Tabah."
