Yazid b. Harun narrated to us: al-'Awwam informed us: Sa'id b. Jumhan narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Bakra, from his father, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned a land called al-Basra, beside which is a river called Dijla, with abundant palm trees, where Banu Qanturaa' would settle, and the people would split into three groups: a group that would go back to its origins, and they perished; a group that would take matters into its own hands, and they disbelieved; and a group that would place their offspring behind their backs and fight, so their slain would be martyrs, and God, Blessed and Exalted, would grant victory over the rest of them. Yazid was uncertain about it once and said "al-Busayra or al-Basra." Muhammad b. Yazid narrated to us: al-'Awwam b. Hawshab informed us, from Sa'id b. Jumhan, from Ibn Abi Bakra, from his father, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "You shall surely settle a land called al-Basra, or al-Busayra, upon a river, the Dijla," and he related the like of its meaning. Al-'Awwam said: Banu Qanturaa' are the Turks.
