Arim told us: Mu'tamir told us, who said: My father narrated, from al-Ala ibn Umayr, who said: I was with Qatadah ibn Milhan when he was dying, and a man passed by at the far end of the house. He said: I observed it in Qatadah's face - he said: whenever I saw it [that expression], it was as if his face had oil upon it. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had wiped his face. Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Yahya ibn Ma'in and Hurraym Abu Hamzah told us, they said: Mu'tamir told us, and he mentioned the same.
