حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَبِهَا وَنِعْمَتْ وَمَنْ اغْتَسَلَ فَذَاكَ أَفْضَلُ.

Ali ibn Abdullah narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zurai' narrated to us, Shu'ba narrated to us, from Qatada, from al-Hasan, from Samura, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: "Whoever performs ablution, that suffices and is good; and whoever bathes, that is better."
