Abd al-Razzaq told us, Ma'mar informed us, from Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Abdullah ibn Hafs, from Ya'la ibn Murrah al-Thaqafi, who said: there are three things I saw from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. While we were traveling with him, we passed by a camel being used to draw water, and when the camel saw him it groaned and lowered its chin to the ground, so the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stopped by it and said, "Where is the owner of this camel?" So he came, and he said, "Sell it to me." He said, "No, rather I give it to you as a gift." He said, "No, sell it to me." He said, "No, rather I give it to you as a gift, for it belongs to a household who have no livelihood other than it." He said, "Since you have mentioned this about it — it has complained of too much work and too little fodder, so treat it well." He said: then we traveled on and stopped at a place, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, slept, and a tree came, splitting the earth, until it covered him, then it returned to its place. When he awoke I mentioned it to him, and he said, "That is a tree that asked permission of its Lord, Mighty and Majestic, to greet the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and He gave it permission." He said: then we traveled on and passed by some water, and a woman came to him with a son of hers who was possessed by a jinn. So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, took hold of his nostril and said, "Get out, I am Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah." He said: then we traveled on, and when we returned from our journey we passed by that same water, and the woman came to him with a slaughtered camel and milk. He ordered her to take back the slaughtered camel, and he ordered his companions, and he drank some of the milk, and he asked her about the boy. She said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, we have not seen any trouble from him since you were here."
