حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ مُرَّةَ الطَّيِّبِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غُرْفَتِي هَذِهِ حَسِبْتُ قَالَ خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لَهُ حَمْرَاءَ مُخَضْرَمَةٍ فَقَالَ هَذَا يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ وَهَذَا يَوْمُ الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ.

Waki' narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us from Amr ibn Murrah, from Murrah al-Tayyib, who said: A man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, narrated to me in this upper chamber of mine - I think he said - The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, addressed us on the Day of Sacrifice upon a red she-camel of his, well past its prime, and said: This is the Day of Sacrifice, and this is the Day of the Greater Pilgrimage.
