He said: And I went out, I and a cousin of mine, in the lower part of Mecca — or he said the upper part of Mecca — and we met a young woman from Banu Amir ibn Sa'sa'ah, like a tall, slender young she-camel. He said: And I was rather plain, wearing a fresh new cloak, while my cousin wore a worn cloak. He said: So we said to her, "Would you allow one of us to contract a temporary marriage with you?" She said, "And is that permissible?" He said: We said, "Yes." He said: So she began looking at my cousin, and I said to her, "This cloak of mine is fresh and new, while my cousin's cloak here is worn and threadbare." She said, "This cloak of your cousin's is not bad." He said: So he contracted the temporary marriage with her. But we did not leave Mecca before the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had forbidden it.
