حَدَّثَنَا الْأَحْوَصُ بْنُ جَوَّابٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَمَعَ عُمَرَ فَلَمْ يَجْهَرُوا بِ { بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ }.

al-Ahwas ibn Jawwab told us, 'Ammar ibn Ruzayq told us, from al-A'mash, from Shu'bah, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: I prayed with the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and with Abu Bakr and with Umar, and they did not recite {In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful} aloud.
