820/1070(صحيح)عن سهل بن سعد: أن رجلاً اطلع من جحر في باب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ومع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مِدرى(1)يحك به رأسه، فلما رآه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:"لو أعلم أنك تنتظرني لطعنت به في عينك". وقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إنما جعل الإذن من أجل البصر".
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Sahl ibn Sa'd reported: A man peeked through a hole in the door of the Prophet (peace be upon him), while the Prophet had a comb with which he was scratching his head. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw him, he said: 'Had I known you were watching, I would have poked it in your eye.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Permission was ordained because of sight [i.e., to protect privacy].'
