حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا خُصَيْفٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مِقْسَمٌ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رضى الله عنهما نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ { وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يَغُلَّ } فِي قَطِيفَةٍ حَمْرَاءَ فُقِدَتْ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخَذَهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ { وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يَغُلَّ } إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ يَغُلَّ مَفْتُوحَةُ الْيَاءِ .
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Miqsam, the freed slave of Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both), reports that Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) stated that the verse 'It is not for any the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to act dishonestly' (Surah Aal Imran: 161) was revealed concerning a red velvet cloth that went missing on the day of Badr. Some people said: Perhaps the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) has taken it. So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed 'It is not for any the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to act dishonestly' to the end of the verse. Abu Dawud (upon him be mercy) said: The word 'yaghulla' has the letter ya with fathah.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت مقسم مولیٰ حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کا بیان ہے کہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے فرمایا کہ یہ آیت «وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يَغُلَّ» یعنی کسی نبی کے شایانِ شان نہیں کہ وہ خیانت کرے (سورۃ آل عمران: ۱۶۱) ایک سرخ چادر کے بارے میں نازل ہوئی جو بدر کے دن مفقود ہو گئی تھی۔ بعض لوگوں نے کہا: شاید رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اسے لے لیا ہو۔ تو اللہ عزوجل نے «وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يَغُلَّ» آخر آیت تک نازل فرمائی۔ حضرت ابوداؤد رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کہتے ہیں: «يَغُلَّ» یاء مفتوح کے ساتھ ہے۔
