حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلاَةَ الصُّبْحِ بِالْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فِي إِثْرِ سَمَاءٍ كَانَتْ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ " هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ " . قَالُوا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ . قَالَ " قَالَ أَصْبَحَ مِنْ عِبَادِي مُؤْمِنٌ بِي وَكَافِرٌ فَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَذَلِكَ مُؤْمِنٌ بِي كَافِرٌ بِالْكَوْكَبِ وَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَذَلِكَ كَافِرٌ بِي مُؤْمِنٌ بِالْكَوْكَبِ " .
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be well pleased with him) states: I was in the mosque when a man entered and prayed, reciting in a manner that displeased me. Then another man entered and recited differently from his companion. When we finished the prayer, we all went to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). I submitted: This man recited in a manner I found disagreeable, and the other recited differently from him. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commanded both to recite, and both recited well. Then a feeling of denial entered my heart that had not occurred even in the days of ignorance (jahiliyyah). When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) perceived my state, he struck my chest with his blessed hand. I broke into a sweat and felt as though I were gazing at Allah the Exalted with awe. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said to me: O Hadrat Ubayy! I was sent the message to recite the Quran in one dialect, and I replied: Make it easy for my community. The second time the message came to recite in two dialects, and I said: Make it easy for my community. The third time the message was to recite in seven dialects, and for each time there is a supplication for you which you have asked. I said: O Allah, forgive my community! O Allah, forgive my community! And the third (supplication) I have deferred for the Day when all creation — even Ibrahim (upon him be peace) — will turn to me.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: میں مسجد میں تھا کہ ایک شخص داخل ہوا اور نماز پڑھنے لگا، اس نے ایسی قراءت پڑھی جو مجھے ناگوار لگی۔ پھر ایک اور شخص آیا اور اس نے اپنے ساتھی سے مختلف قراءت پڑھی۔ جب ہم نے نماز ادا کر لی تو ہم سب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اس شخص نے ایسی قراءت پڑھی جو مجھے ناگوار لگی، اور دوسرے نے اس سے مختلف پڑھی۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے دونوں کو قراءت کا حکم دیا تو دونوں نے اچھا پڑھا۔ تو میرے دل میں تکذیب (کا وسوسہ) آیا جو جاہلیت میں بھی نہیں آیا تھا۔ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے میری حالت دیکھی تو آپ نے میرے سینے پر ہاتھ مارا، تو مجھے پسینہ آ گیا اور ایسا لگا جیسے میں اللہ تعالیٰ کو خوف سے دیکھ رہا ہوں۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مجھ سے ارشاد فرمایا: اے ابی! مجھے پیغام بھیجا گیا کہ قرآن ایک حرف پر پڑھوں تو میں نے جواب دیا کہ میری اُمت پر آسانی فرما۔ دوسری مرتبہ پیغام آیا کہ دو حرف پر پڑھو تو میں نے عرض کیا: میری اُمت پر آسانی فرما۔ تیسری مرتبہ پیغام آیا کہ سات حرف پر پڑھو اور ہر بار ایک دعا تمہارے لیے ہے جو تم نے مانگی۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اے اللہ! میری امت کو بخش دے، اے اللہ! میری اُمت کو بخش دے، اور تیسری (دعا) وہ دن کے لیے مؤخر کر دی جس دن تمام مخلوق — حتیٰ کہ ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) بھی — میری طرف متوجہ ہوں گے۔
