A man came to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud and said: 'O Abu Abd al-Rahman, I was in a state of janabah and did not perform ghusl until morning.' Abdullah said: 'You were in janabah and prayer was not permissible for you. Then you performed ghusl and prayer became permissible for you, and fasting became permissible for you.' That was during Ramadan.
