Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:6384 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ثنا أَبُو الْخَلِيلِ عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ ثنا عُبَيْدَةُ الْهُجَيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جُرَيٍّ جَابِرٌ رَكِبْتُ قَعُودًا لِي فَأَتَيْتُ مَكَّةَ فِي طَلَبِهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ «وَعَلَيْكَ» قُلْتُ إِنَّا مَعْشَرَ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ قَوْمٌ مِنَّا الْجَفَاءُ فَعَلِّمْنِي كَلَامًا يَنْفَعُنِي اللهُ بِهِ؟ قَالَ «اتَّقِ اللهَ وَلَا تَحْقِرَنَّ مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ أَوِ الْخَيْرِ شَيْئًا وَإِيَّاكَ وَإِسْبَالَ الْإِزَارِ فَإِنَّهُ مِنَ الْمَخِيلَةِ وَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُخْتَالَ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ذَكَرْتَ إِسْبَالَ الْإِزَارِ وَقَدْ يَكُونُ بِسَاقِ الرَّجُلِ الْقُرَحُ أَوِ الشَّيْءُ يَسْتَحِيِي مِنْهُ؟ فَقَالَ «لَا بَأْسَ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ أَوْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ إِنَّ رَجُلًا مِمَّنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ لَبِسَ بُرْدَةً فَتَبَخْتَرَ فِيهَا فَنَظَرَ اللهُ ﷻ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ فَوْقِ عَرْشِهِ فَمَقَتَهُ فَأَمَرَ الْأَرْضَ فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ بَيْنَ الْأَرْضِ فَاحْذَرُوا مَقْتَ اللهِ ﷻ»
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Jurayy Jabir said: "I mounted my riding camel and came to Makkah seeking him, and found him (peace be upon him) sitting. I said: 'Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'And upon you.' I said: 'We, the people of the desert, have roughness in us. Teach me words that Allah may benefit me with.' He said: 'Fear Allah and do not belittle any act of kindness or goodness, even if it is speaking to your brother with a cheerful face. Beware of letting your garment hang below the ankles, for it is a form of arrogance, and Allah the Almighty does not love arrogance.' A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you mentioned letting the garment hang, but a man's leg may have sores or something he is embarrassed about.' He said: 'There is no harm in it reaching the middle of the shin or the ankles. Indeed, a man from those before you wore a fine garment and strutted in it. Allah the Almighty looked at him from above His Throne and was displeased with him, so He commanded the earth and it swallowed him. He continues to sink in the earth, so beware of Allah's displeasure.'"
