Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:2920 I heard Abu Salih say: ‘Ali ؓ said: I mentioned the daughter of Hamzah (as a potential spouse) to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said: ʿShe is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 1169) حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عَوْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ؓ قَالَ

'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I mentioned the daughter of Hamzah to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he said: "She is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding."
