Narrated Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him): I was the fourth of Islam — three people accepted Islam before me and I was the fourth. I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: "Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger." I saw joy on the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He said: "Who are you?" I said: "I am Jundub, a man from Banu Ghifar." It was as if he (peace be upon him) drew back and wished I had been from a tribe other than the one I was from — that being because I was from a tribe that used to steal from the pilgrims with their hooks.
