Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:145 ʿUthman bin ʿAffan ؓ said, speaking from his minbar: I am going to tell you a hadeeth that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; nothing kept me from telling it to you except the fact that I care for you. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Standing guard for one night for the sake of Allah, may He be exalted, is better than a thousand nights spent in prayer and [a thousand] days spent fasting.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 463) حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا أَبُو عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِيُ ثنا كَهْمَسُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ قَالَ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Uthman ibn Affan said from his pulpit: I am going to tell you a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him); nothing kept me from telling it to you except that I cared for you. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: 'Guarding the frontier for one day in the way of Allah is better than a thousand days spent elsewhere.'
