Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1310 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلُ ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَخْضَرِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ أَنَّ ثَابِتًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ قَدْ هَلَكْتُ قَالَ «لِمَ؟» قَالَ نَهَانَا اللهُ أَنْ نُحْمَدَ بِمَا لَمْ نَفْعَلْ وَإِنِّي رَجُلٌ أُحِبُّ الْحَمْدَ وَنَهَانَا أَنْ نَرْفَعَ أَصْوَاتَنَا فَوْقَ صَوْتِكَ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ جَهِيرُ الصَّوْتِ وَنَهَانَا عَنِ الْخُيَلَاءِ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ أُحِبُّ الْجَمَالَ فَقَالَ «يَا ثَابِتُ أَمَا تُحِبُّ أَنْ تَعِيشَ حَمِيدًا وتُقْتَلَ شَهِيدًا؟» فَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I fear that I may have been destroyed." He said: "Why?" He said: "Allah forbids us from being praised for what we have not done, and I am a man who loves praise. He forbids us from vanity, and I am a man who loves beauty. He forbids us from raising our voices above yours, and I am a man with a loud voice." The Prophet said: "O Thabit, would you not be pleased to live praised, be killed as a martyr, and enter Paradise?" He was then killed on the Day of Yamamah.
