Al-Abbas came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) at an unusual hour. It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, your uncle is at the door.' He said: 'Let him in, for he has come for a reason.' When he entered, he said: 'What brings you at this hour, O uncle? This is not your usual time.' He said: 'O nephew, I remembered the days of ignorance and its foolishness, and the world became constricted for me. I said: Who can relieve me? I knew that no one could relieve me except Allah, then you.' He said: 'Praise be to Allah who placed this in your heart. I wish Abu Talib had taken his share, but Allah does what He wills.' He said: 'Shall I give you glad tidings?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Shall I give you?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Shall I give you glad tidings?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'When there is an hour suitable for prayer — not after Asr and not after sunrise — between those times, perfect your ablution. Then stand before Allah and recite al-Fatihah and a surah. If you wish, make it from the beginning of al-Mufassal. When you finish the surah, say SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illAllah, and Allahu Akbar fifteen times. When you bow, say that ten times. When you raise your head, say that ten times...'
