Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever is killed in a brawl or in a throwing fight, struck by a stone or a stick, his blood money is a heavy penalty upon his paternal relatives. Whoever is killed by intentional striking, then it is retribution. Whoever shields the killer, then upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people; neither obligatory nor voluntary acts of worship will be accepted from him.'
