Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10916 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ «كَانَ الطَّلَاقُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَسَنَتَيْنِ مِنْ خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ طَلَاقُ الثَّلَاثِ وَاحِدَةً» فَقَالَ عُمَرُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدِ اسْتَعْجَلُوا أَمْرًا كَانَتْ لَهُمْ فِيهِ أَنَاةٌ فَلَوْ أَمْضَيْنَاهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَمْضَاهُ عَلَيْهِمْ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'During the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), Abu Bakr, and two years of the caliphate of Umar, a triple divorce was counted as one.' Then Umar said: 'The people have hastened in a matter in which they used to have patience. If only we could enforce it upon them.' So he enforced it upon them.
