Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10785 حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ قَالَا ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا غَطَفَانَ بْنَ طَرِيفٍ الْمُرِّيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ صَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَأَمَرَ بِصِيَامِهِ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ يَوْمًا يُعَظِّمُهُ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا كَانَ عَامُ الْمُقْبِلِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ صُمْنَا التَّاسِعَ» فَلَمْ يَأْتِ عَامُ الْمُقْبِلِ حَتَّى تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ibn Abbas narrated: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) fasted the day of Ashura and commanded fasting on it.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, it is a day that the Jews and Christians venerate.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'If I live until the next year, by Allah's will, we will fast the ninth day.' But the next year did not come before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) passed away.
