Hanzalah bin Qays al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) about renting out land in exchange for gold and silver, and he said: "There is no harm in it. In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) people used to rent out land at the banks of canals and the heads of watercourses for a share of the produce, and sometimes one thing would perish and the other would survive, or this one would perish and that one would survive, so the people would get no rent except what remained; for this reason the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade it. But if the rent is a specified thing (such as money, gold coin, grain, and the like) that can be guaranteed, then there is no harm in it." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 974]
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا حنظلہ بن قیس انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے سیدنا رافع بن خدیج رضی اللہ عنہ سے زمین کو سونے اور چاندی کے بدلے کرایہ پر دینے کے بارے میں پوچھا، تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اس میں کوئی قباحت نہیں۔ لوگ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے عہد میں نہر کے کناروں پر اور نالیوں کے سروں پر پیداوار پر زمین کرایہ پر چلاتے تھے تو بعض اوقات ایک چیز تلف ہو جاتی اور دوسری بچ جاتی اور کبھی یہ تلف ہو جاتی اور وہ بچ جاتی، تو لوگوں کو کچھ کرایہ نہ ملتا مگر وہی جو بچ رہتا، اس لئے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس سے منع فرمایا۔ لیکن اگر کرایہ کے بدلے کوئی معین چیز (جیسے روپیہ اشرفی غلہ وغیرہ) جس کی ذمہ داری ہو سکے تو اس میں کوئی قباحت نہیں ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 974]
