انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Zirr ibn Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with him): I asked Ubayy ibn Kab (may Allah be pleased with him), "Your brother Abdullah ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that whoever stays awake the whole year will attain Laylat al-Qadr." He said, "May Allah have mercy on him. What he meant by saying this was that people should not rely on one single night alone (but rather remain engaged in worship always); otherwise he well knew that it is in Ramadan, in the last ten days, and that it is the twenty-seventh night." Then he swore, without saying 'if Allah wills', that it is the twenty-seventh night. I said to him, "O Abu al-Mundhir! On what basis do you make this claim?" He said, "By a sign or indication of which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) informed us, namely that the sun which rises on its morning has no rays (but this sign appears only after that night has ended)."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا زر بن حبیش رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے سیدنا ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ تمہارے بھائی عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ جو سال بھر تک جاگے گا، اس کو شب قدر ملے گی تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ان پر رحم فرمائے، یہ کہنے سے ان کی غرض یہ تھی کہ لوگ ایک ہی رات پر بھروسہ نہ کر بیٹھیں (بلکہ ہمیشہ عبادت میں مشغول رہیں) ورنہ وہ خوب جانتے تھے کہ وہ رمضان میں، آخری عشرہ میں ہے اور وہ ستائیسویں رات ہے۔ پھر انہوں نے بغیر انشاءاللہ کہے قسم اٹھا کر کہا کہ کہ وہ ستائیسویں رات ہے۔ میں نے ان سے کہا کہ اے ابومنذر! تم یہ دعویٰ کس بنا پر کرتے ہو؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ایک نشانی یا علامت کی وجہ سے جس کی خبر ہمیں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دی ہے، وہ یہ کہ اس کی صبح کو آفتاب جو نکلتا ہے تو اس میں شعاع نہیں ہوتی (مگر یہ علامت اس رات کے ختم ہونے کے بعد ظاہر ہوتی ہے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 638]
