Narrated Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her): When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) intended to make itikaf, he would pray the morning prayer and then enter the place of itikaf. Once he (peace be upon him) ordered his tent to be pitched (in the mosque), and it was pitched, for he (peace be upon him) had intended to make itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan. Then Zaynab, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), asked for a tent to be pitched for herself, and it was pitched for her too. Then the other Mothers of the Believers asked, and their tents were pitched too. Then, when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had prayed the Fajr prayer, he saw all the tents and said, "What good deed did these women intend?" (meaning there was a scent of showing off in it). So he (peace be upon him) ordered his tent to be taken down, and it was taken down, and he abandoned the itikaf in Ramadan, until he later made itikaf in the first ten days of Shawwal.
اردو ترجمہ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمجب اعتکاف کا ارادہ کرتے تو صبح کی نماز پڑھ کر اعتکاف کی جگہ میں داخل ہو جاتے۔ اور ایک بار آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (مسجد میں) اپنا خیمہ لگانے کا حکم فرمایا۔ وہ لگا دیا گیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے رمضان کے عشرہ اخیر میں اعتکاف کا ارادہ کیا تھا تو ام المؤمنین زینب رضی اللہ عنہا نے اپنے لئے خیمہ لگانے کا کہا تو ان کے لئے بھی خیمہ لگا دیا گیا۔ پھر دوسری امہات المؤمنین نے کہا تو ان کے خیمے بھی لگا دئیے گئے۔ پھر جب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفجر کی نماز پڑھ چکے تو سب خیموں کو دیکھا اور فرمایا کہ ان لوگوں نے کیا نیکی کا ارادہ کیا ہے؟ (اس میں بوئے ریا پائی جاتی ہے) چنانچہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنا خیمہ کھولنے کا حکم دیا تو اسے کھول دیا گیا اور آپ نے رمضان میں اعتکاف ترک کر دیا یہاں تک کہ پھر شوال کے پہلے عشرہ میں اعتکاف کیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 631]
