Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The likeness of the miser and the giver of charity is like two men wearing iron coats of mail. When the generous one wishes to give charity, his coat becomes spacious, until it wipes away his footprints; and when the miser wishes to give charity, it becomes tight, and his hands are locked to his neck, and every ring locks into its next ring." The narrator of the hadith (Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: "Then he strives to make it spacious, but it does not become spacious."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: بخیل اور صدقہ دینے والے کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے دو آدمی کہ جن پر لوہے کی زرہیں ہوں۔ پھر جب سخی نے چاہا صدقہ دے تو اس کی زرہ کشادہ ہو گئی، یہاں تک کہ اس کے قدموں کا اثر مٹانے لگی۔ اور جب بخیل نے چاہا کہ صدقہ دے تو وہ تنگ ہو گئی اور اس کے ہاتھ اس کے گلے میں پھنس گئے اور ہر حلقہ اپنے دوسرے حلقے میں گھس گیا۔ راوی حدیث (سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ) نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ پھر وہ کوشش کرتا ہے کہ کشادہ ہو مگر وہ کشادہ نہیں ہوتی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 548]
