The Mother of the Believers Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was shrouded in three white cotton cloths made in Sahul. Among them there was neither a shirt nor a turban. And people have become confused about the striped mantle (hullah). The truth is that a striped mantle had been bought for him so that he might be shrouded in it, but then it was not used, and he was shrouded in three cloths that were of white Sahul make. And the striped mantle was taken by Abdullah bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I will keep it stored, and I will make it my own shroud. Then he said: If Allah had wished this, it would have been used for the shroud of His Prophet (peace be upon him). So he sold it and gave its price in charity. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim/Hadith: 468]
اردو ترجمہ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سحول کی بنی ہوئی تین سفید روئی کی بنی ہوئی چادروں میں کفن دیا گیا۔ ان میں نہ کرتہ تھا، نہ عمامہ اور حلہ کا لوگوں کو شبہ ہو گیا ہے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ حلہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے لئے خریدا گیا تھا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اس میں کفن دیا جائے، پھر نہ دیا گیا اور تین چادروں میں دیا گیا جو سفید سحول کی بنی ہوئی تھیں۔ اور حلہ کو عبداللہ بن ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے لیا اور کہا کہ میں اسے رکھ چھوڑوں گا اور میں اپنا کفن اسی سے کروں گا۔ پھر کہا کہ اگر اللہ کو یہ پسند ہوتا تو اس کے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے کفن کے کام آتا سو اس کو بیچ ڈالا اور اس کی قیمت خیرات کر دی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 468]
