Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): We fought in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) against a people of Banu Juhaynah, and they fought us very fiercely. Then, when we had prayed Zuhr, the polytheists said: If only we had attacked them all at once, we would have cut them down. Jibril informed the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) of this, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned it to us. And he said: The polytheists also said that another prayer is coming for them which is dearer to them than their own children. Then, when the time of Asr came, we formed two rows (one behind the other), and the polytheists were facing the qiblah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said the opening takbir and we all said it too. He performed the bowing (ruku) and we bowed too (that is, both rows participated up to the bowing), and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the people of the first row performed the prostration. Then, when he and the first row stood up, the second row prostrated, and the front row moved back and the back row moved forward. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said "Allahu Akbar" and we said it too, and he bowed and we bowed too, and the people of the first row prostrated with him while the people of the second row remained standing. Then, when the others had also prostrated, they all sat, and everyone gave the salutation with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Abu al-Zubayr said that Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) also said one more thing: just as these rulers of yours pray nowadays. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim/Hadith: 444]
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی رفاقت میں بنی جہینہ کی ایک قوم کے ساتھ جہاد کیا انھوں نے ہمارے ساتھ بہت سخت لڑائی کی۔ پھر جب ہم ظہر پڑھ چکے تو مشرکوں نے کہا کہ کاش ہم ان پر یک بارگی حملہ کرتے تو ان کو کاٹ ڈالتے۔ جبرائیل نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اس کی خبر دی اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ہم سے ذکر کیا۔ اور فرمایا کہ مشرکوں نے (یہ بھی) کہا کہ ان کی ایک اور نماز آ رہی ہے کہ وہ ان کو اولاد سے بھی زیادہ عزیز ہے۔ پھر جب عصر کا وقت آیا تو ہم نے (آگے پیچھے) دو صفیں باندھ لیں اور مشرک قبلہ کی طرف تھے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے تکبیر تحریمہ کہی اور ہم سب نے بھی کہی، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے رکوع کیا تو ہم نے بھی رکوع کیا (یعنی دونوں صفیں رکوع تک شریک رہیں) اور سجدہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اور پہلی صف کے لوگوں نے کیا پھر جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور پہلی صف کھڑی ہو گئی تو دوسری صف نے سجدہ کیا اور اگلی صف پیچھے اور پچھلی آگے ہو گئی۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اللہ اکبر کہا اور ہم نے بھی کہا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے رکوع کیا تو ہم نے بھی رکوع کیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ صف اول کے لوگوں نے سجدہ کیا اور دوسری صف کے لوگ ویسے ہی کھڑے رہے۔ پھر جب دوسرے بھی سجدہ کر چکے تو سب بیٹھ گئے۔ اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ سب نے سلام پھیرا۔ ابوالزبیر نے کہا کہ سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایک اور بات بھی کہی کہ جیسے آج کل یہ تمہارے حاکم نماز پڑھتے ہیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 444]
