Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "We are the last, yet on the Day of Resurrection we will be the foremost, and we will be the first to enter Paradise. Except that they were given the Book before us, and we were given it after them. And they differed regarding the truth; so this Friday is the very day about which they differed, and Allah guided us to it. So this Friday is for us, and the next day is for the Jews (i.e., Saturday), and the third day is for the Christians (i.e., Sunday — which they appointed for themselves)." اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: ہم سب سے پیچھے ہیں اور قیامت کے دن سب سے آگے ہو جانے والے ہیں۔ اور ہم جنت میں سب سے پہلے داخل ہوں گے۔ مگر البتہ اتنی بات ہے کہ ان لوگوں کو کتاب ہم سے پہلے ملی ہے اور ہمیں ان کے بعد ملی۔ اور انہوں نے سچی بات میں اختلاف کیا سو یہ جمعہ کا دن وہی ہے جس میں انہوں نے اختلاف کیا اور اللہ نے ہمیں ہدایت دی پھر یہ جمعہ کا دن تو ہمارے لئے اور دوسرا دن یہود کا (یعنی ہفتہ) اور تیسرا دن نصاریٰ کا (یعنی اتوار۔ جو انہوں نے اپنے لئے مقرر کئے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 399]
