انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Ubayy bin Kab (may Allah be pleased with him): There was a man among the Ansar whose house was the farthest of all the houses of Medina from the mosque, yet no congregational prayer of his with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was ever missed (that is, he reached every prayer). I felt pity for him and said to him, "If only you would buy a donkey to protect you from the heat and from the crawling creatures of the road." He said, "By Allah, I do not wish that my house be adjoined to the house of Muhammad (peace be upon him)." This saying of his weighed heavily on me, so I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and informed him, and he (peace be upon him) summoned the man. He said to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) the same as he had said to me, and said, "I desire the reward of my footsteps." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Indeed, for you is the reward you hope for."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہانصار میں سے ایک شخص تھے کہ ان کا گھر مدینہ کے سب گھروں سے مسجد سے دور تھا اور ان کی کوئی جماعت رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ جانے نہ پاتی تھی (یعنی ہر نماز میں پہنچتے تھے) تو مجھے ان پر ترس آیا اور میں نے ان سے کہا کہ کاش تم ایک گدھا خرید لو کہ تمہیں گرمی سے اور راہ کے کیڑے مکوڑوں سے بچائے تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم! میں نہیں چاہتا کہ میرا گھر محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے گھر سے متصل ہو۔ مجھ پر اس کی یہ بات گراں گزری تو میں نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو خبر دی، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کو بلایا۔ انہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے بھی وہی کہا جو مجھ سے کہا تھا اور کہا کہ میں اپنے قدموں کا اجر چاہتا ہوں۔ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ بیشک تم کو اجر ہے جس کے تم امیدوار ہو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 242]
