Amir ash-Sha'bi said: I asked Alqama: Was Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both) with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on the Night of the Jinn? He said: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both): Was any of you with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on the Night of the Jinn? (i.e., the night on which he, peace be upon him, met the jinn.) He said: No, but one day we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and we found him missing. We searched for him (peace be upon him) in the valleys and ravines of the mountains, but we could not find him (peace be upon him). We thought that the jinn had carried him off or that someone had secretly killed him, and we spent the night in the worst manner. When morning came, we saw him (peace be upon him) coming from the direction of Hira (Jabal an-Nur, a mountain between Mecca and Mina). We said: O Messenger of Allah! Last night we found you missing, and when we could not find you despite searching, we spent the night in the worst manner (without you). He (peace be upon him) said: "A caller from the jinn came to me, so I went with him and recited the Qur'an to the jinn." Then he took us with him and showed us their traces and the traces of their fires. The jinn asked him (peace be upon him) for provision, and he (peace be upon him) said: "Every bone over which the name of Allah has been mentioned is food for you; when it falls into your hands it will be covered with meat. And every camel's dropping is fodder for your animals." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do not perform istinja with a bone or dung, for they are the food of your brethren, the jinn (and the fodder of their animals)."
اردو ترجمہ
عامر الشعبی کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے علقمہ سے پوچھا کہکیا لیلۃالجن میں سیدنا ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ تھے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے سیدنا ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما سے پوچھا تھا کیا لیلۃالجن میں تم میں سے کوئی رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ تھا؟ (یعنی جس رات آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے جنوں سے ملاقات فرمائی) انہوں نے کہا کہ نہیں، لیکن ایک روز ہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ تھے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمگم پایا۔ پس ہم نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو پہاڑ کی وادیوں اور گھاٹیوں میں تلاش کیا، لیکن آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنہ ملے۔ ہم سمجھے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو جن اڑا لے گئے یا کسی نے چپکے سے مار ڈالا اور رات ہم نے نہایت برے طور سے بسر کی۔ جب صبح ہوئی تو دیکھا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمحراء (جبل نور پہاڑ ہے جو مکہ اور منیٰ کے درمیان میں ہے) کی طرف سے آ رہے ہیں۔ ہم نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! رات کو ہم نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو گم پایا اور جب تلاش کے باوجود بھی آپ نہ ملے تو آخر ہم نے (آپ کے بغیر) بہت برے طور سے رات گزاری۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ مجھے جنوں کی طرف سے ایک بلانے والا آیا تو میں اس کے ساتھ چلا گیا اور جنوں کو قرآن سنایا۔ پھر آپ ہمیں اپنے ساتھ لے گئے اور ان کے نشان اور ان کے انگاروں کے نشان بتلائے۔ جنوں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے زادراہ چاہا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس جانور کی ہر ہڈی جو اللہ کے نام پر کاٹا جائے، وہ تمہاری خوراک ہے۔ تمہارے ہاتھ میں پڑتے ہی وہ گوشت سے پر ہو جائے گی اور ہر ایک اونٹ کی مینگنی تمہارے جانوروں کی خوراک ہے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ہڈی اور مینگنی سے استنجاء مت کرو، کیونکہ وہ تمہارے بھائی جنوں (اور ان کے جانوروں) کی خوراک ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2117]
