انگریزی ترجمہ
It is narrated from Amir ibn Wathila that Nafi ibn Abd al-Harith met Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) at (the place called) Usfan, and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had appointed him agent over Mecca. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Whom have you appointed as agent over the people of the countryside? He said: Ibn Abza. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Who is Ibn Abza? He said: One of our freed slaves. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You have appointed a freed slave as agent over them? He said: He is a reciter of the Book of Allah and is well-versed in the science of inheritance laws (which the Prophet, peace be upon him, declared to be half of knowledge). Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Listen, your Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Allah, the Exalted, raises some people by means of this Book and lowers others by it."
اردو ترجمہ
عامر بن واثلہ سے روایت ہے کہنافع بن عبدالحارث نے سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے (مقام) عسفان میں ملاقات کی اور سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان کو مکہ پر عامل / تحصیلدار بنایا ہوا تھا۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے پوچھا کہ تم نے جنگل والوں پر کس کو عامل بنایا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ابن ابزیٰ کو۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ابن ابزیٰ کون ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمارے آزاد کردہ غلاموں میں سے ایک غلام ہے۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ تم نے غلام کو ان پر عامل کر دیا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ کتاب اللہ کے قاری ہیں اور علم الفرائض (یعنی قوانین وراثت جسے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے نصف العلم قرار دیا ہے) خوب جانتے ہیں۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ سنو تمہارے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اس کتاب کے سبب سے کچھ لوگوں کو بلند کرے گا اور کچھ لوگوں کو گرا دے گا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2102]
