Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: One day Jibril (peace be upon him) was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when he heard a very loud sound of a door opening. He raised his head, and Jibril (peace be upon him) said: This is a gate of the heaven that has opened today; it had never opened before today. From it an angel descended. And Jibril (peace be upon him) said: This angel who has descended to the earth has never descended before this day. He gave the greeting of peace and said: Rejoice at two lights that have been given to you, which were not given to any prophet before you: one is Surat al-Fatiha, and the other the (closing) verses of Surat al-Baqara. You will not read a single letter of them but that you will be granted what you ask for by them.
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہایک دن جبرائیل علیہ السلام رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ دروازہ کھلنے کی ایک بڑے زور کی آواز سنی تو اپنا سر اٹھایا اور جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے کہا کہ یہ آسمان کا ایک دروازہ ہے جو آج کھلا ہے، آج سے پہلے اور کبھی نہیں کھلا تھا۔ پس اس سے ایک فرشتہ اترا۔ اور جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے کہا کہ یہ فرشتہ جو زمین پر اترا ہے آج کے دن کے علاوہ کبھی نہیں اترا اور اس نے سلام کیا اور کہا کہ آپ کو دو نوروں کی خوشخبری ہو جو کہ آپ کو عنایت ہوئے ہیں، وہ آپ کے سوا کسی نبی کو نہیں ملے۔ ایک سورۃ الفاتحہ ہے اور دوسرے سورۃ البقرہ کی آیات۔ تم اس میں سے کوئی حرف نہ پڑھو گے کہ اس کی مانگی ہوئی چیز تمہیں نہ ملے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2094]
