انگریزی ترجمہ
Sayyiduna Urwa narrates from the Mother of the Believers Aisha as-Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that she used to say: By Allah, O my nephew! We would see a new moon, then another, then a third — three new moons in two months — and no fire would be kindled in the houses of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) during that time. I said: O aunt! Then what did you live on? She said: Dates and water. However, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had some neighbors from among the Ansar who had milk-giving animals, and they would send milk to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) would give us some of that milk to drink.
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا عروہ ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ وہ کہا کرتی تھیں کہاللہ کی قسم اے میرے بھانجے! ہم ایک چاند دیکھتے، دوسرا دیکھتے، تیسرا دیکھتے، دو مہینے میں تین چاند دیکھتے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے گھروں میں اس دوران آگ نہ جلتی تھی۔ میں نے کہا کہ اے خالہ! پھر آپ کی زندگی کس پر تھی؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ کھجور اور پانی۔ البتہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے انصار میں سے کچھ ہمسائے تھے جن کے دودھ والے جانور تھے، وہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے لئے دودھ بھیجتے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلموہ دودھ ہمیں بھی پلا دیتے تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2070]
