It is narrated from Abu Nadrah that we were with Jabir ibn 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) when he said: It is near that the qafiz and dirham of the people of Iraq will not come. We said, "For what reason?" He said, "The non-Arabs will withhold it." Then he said: It is near that the dinar and mudy of the people of Syria will not come to them (the mudy is a measure, likewise the qafiz). We said, "For what reason?" He said, "The Romans will withhold it." Then he was silent for a while, after which he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "In the latter part of my nation there will be a caliph who will give out wealth by handfuls (that is, money and gold coins to people) and will not count it." Jarir said: I asked Abu Nadrah and Abu al-'Ala', "Do you think this caliph is 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him)?" They said, "No." (This is the Mahdi who will be born in the latter age of the nation; 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, was in the earlier period.)
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابونضرہ سے روایت ہے کہہم سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس تھے کہ انہوں نے کہا کہ قریب ہے کہ عراق والوں کے قفیز اور درہم نہیں آئیں گے۔ ہم نے کہا کہ کس سبب سے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ عجم کے لوگ اس کو روک لیں گے۔ پھر کہا کہ قریب ہے کہ شام والوں کے پاس دینار اور مدی نہ آئیں (مدی ایک پیمانہ ہے اسی طرح قفیز) ہم نے کہا کہ کس سبب سے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ روم والے لوگ روک لیں گے۔ پھر تھوڑی دیر چپ رہے، اس کے بعد کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ میری اخیر امت میں ایک خلیفہ ہو گا، جو لپیں بھربھر کر مال دے گا (یعنی روپیہ اور اشرفیاں لوگوں کو) اور اس کو شمار نہ کرے گا۔ جریر نے کہا کہ میں نے ابونضرہ اور ابوعلاء سے پوچھا کہ کیا تم سمجھتے ہو کہ یہ خلیفہ عمر بن عبدالعزیز رحمہ اللہ ہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ نہیں۔ (یہ مہدی ہیں جو امت کے اخیر زمانہ میں پیدا ہوں گے۔ عمر بن عبدالعزیز رحمہ اللہ تو شروع میں تھے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2036]
