Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): Umm Habibah, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), said, "O Allah! Grant me benefit from my husband the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), my father Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him), and my brother Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him)." So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to her, "You have asked Allah, the Exalted, for things whose terms are fixed, whose days are written down, and whose provisions are apportioned. Allah is not going to bring any of these forward before their time or delay them after their time. Had you asked Allah to save you from the punishment of Hell or the punishment of the grave, it would have been better." A man said, "O Messenger of Allah! Are the apes and swine among those peoples who were transformed?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Allah, the Exalted, did not give offspring to any people He destroyed or punished, and apes and swine existed before those peoples."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہام المؤمنین ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ یااللہ! تو مجھے میرے خاوند رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم، میرے باپ ابوسفیان رضی اللہ عنہ اور میرے بھائی معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے فائدہ عطا کر۔ پس رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان سے فرمایا کہ تو نے اللہ تعالیٰ سے ان باتوں کے لئے کہا جن کی میعادیں مقرر ہیں، اور قدم تک جو چلیں لکھے ہوئے ہیں، اور روزیاں بٹی ہوئی ہیں ان میں سے کسی چیز کو اللہ اس کے وقت سے پہلے یا وقت کے بعد دیر سے کرنے والا نہیں ہے۔ اگر تو اللہ سے یہ مانگتی کہ تجھے جہنم کے عذاب سے یا قبر کے عذاب سے بچائے تو بہتر ہوتا۔ ایک شخص بولا کہ یا رسول اللہ! بندر اور سؤر ان لوگوں میں سے ہیں جو مسخ ہوئے تھے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے جس قوم کو ہلاک کیا یا ان کو عذاب دیا ان کی نسل نہیں چلائی اور بندر اور سؤر تو ان لوگوں سے پہلے موجود تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1846]
