Narrated Mu'adhah (may Allah be pleased with her): I asked Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Why is it that a menstruating woman makes up the fasts but does not make up the prayers?" She said: "Are you a Haruriyah?" I said: "No, I am only asking." She said: "We women used to menstruate, and we were ordered to make up the fasts but were not ordered to make up the prayers." (What an excellent answer she gave — that religion is the name of the command of Allah and His Messenger: what was commanded, we did, and what was not commanded, we did not do.)
اردو ترجمہ
سیدہ معاذہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہمیں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا کہ کیا وجہ ہے کہ حائضہ عورت روزوں کی قضاء کرتی ہے اور نماز کی قضاء نہیں کرتی؟ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ تو حروریہ تو نہیں؟ میں نے کہا کہ نہیں میں تو پوچھتی ہوں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم عورتوں کو حیض آتا تھا تو روزوں کی قضاء کا حکم ہوتا تھا اور نماز کی قضاء کا حکم نہیں دیا جاتا تھا۔ (کتنا عمدہ جواب دیا کہ دین تو اللہ اور رسول کے حکم کا نام ہے جس کا حکم دیا، کر لیا اور جس کا حکم نہیں دیا، نہیں کیا)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 180]
