Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her): Asma (the daughter of Shakal, or the daughter of Yazid bin Sakan) (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the bath after menstruation. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Let one of you take water with lote-tree leaves (sidr) and purify herself well with it (that is, wash and clean off the menstrual blood that is on her), then pour water over her head and rub it hard, so that the water reaches the roots of the hair. Then let her pour water over herself (that is, over the whole body). Then let her take a piece of cotton or cloth scented with musk and purify herself with it." Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "How shall I purify myself with it?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "SubhanAllah! Purify yourself with it." So Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to her quietly: "Apply it to the place of the blood." Then she asked about the bath of major ritual impurity (janabah), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Let her take water and purify herself well, then pour water over her head and rub it, so that the water reaches all the roots of the hair, then pour water over her whole body." Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: How excellent were the women of the Ansar, that they did not feel shy in asking about matters of religion! (And this is what is required, because shame is in sin and disobedience, whereas asking about matters of religion is reward and merit.)
اردو ترجمہ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ(شکل کی بیٹی یا یزید بن سکن کی بیٹی) اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے غسل حیض کے متعلق پوچھا؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ پہلے پانی بیری کے پتوں کے ساتھ لے اور اس سے اچھی طرح پاکی کرے (یعنی حیض کا خون جو لگا ہوا ہو، دھوئے اور صاف کرے) پھر سر پر پانی ڈال کر خوب زور سے ملے، یہاں تک کہ پانی مانگوں (بالوں کی جڑوں) میں پہنچ جائے۔ پھر اپنے اوپر پانی ڈالے (یعنی سارے بدن پر) پھر ایک پھاہا (روئی یا کپڑے کا) مشک لگا ہوا لے کر اس سے پاکی کرے۔ سیدہ اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ میں کیسے پاکیزگی حاصل کروں؟ تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا”سبحان اللہ پاکیزگی حاصل کر لے گی“تو ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے چپکے سے کہہ دیا کہ خون کے مقام پر لگا دے۔ پھر اس نے غسل جنابت کے متعلق پوچھا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ پانی لے کر اچھی طرح طہارت کرے، پھر سر پر پانی ڈالے اور ملے، یہاں تک کہ پانی سب مانگوں میں پہنچ جائے، پھر اپنے سارے بدن پر پانی ڈالے۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ انصار کی عورتیں بھی کیا اچھی عورتیں تھیں کہ دین کی بات پوچھنے میں شرم نہیں کرتی تھیں۔ (اور یہی لازم ہے کیونکہ شرم گناہ اور معصیت میں ہے اور دین کی بات پوچھنا ثواب اور اجر ہے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 172]
