Narrated Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her) from the Prophet (peace be upon him): He (peace be upon him) said, "Among the nations before you there used to be people who were muhaddath (those whose opinions were correct, whose conjectures were sound, or to whom the angels gave inspiration). If there is any such person in my nation, it is Umar bin al-Khattab." Ibn Wahb said that the meaning of muhaddathun is "those given inspiration." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1634]
اردو ترجمہ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتی ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: تم سے پہلے اگلی امتوں میں ایسے لوگ ہوا کرتے تھے جو”محدث“(جن کی رائے ٹھیک ہوتی، گمان صحیح ہوتا یا فرشتے ان کو الہام کرتے) میری امت میں اگر ایسا کوئی ہو تو عمر بن الخطاب ہوں گے۔ ابن وہب نے کہا کہ محدثون کا معنی”الہام والے“ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1634]
